Road Safety Audit (RSA)

A Road Safety Audit (RSA) is a dynamic safety evaluation of proposed or newly constructed highway projects. The SEERO Road Safety Audit group is exceptionally qualified and experienced in performing design and collision analysis. Road Safety Audits are taken on by a team of appropriately qualified safety experts designated independently of the project designers.

The main purpose of the Road Safety Audit process is to lessen both the number and severity of accidents once the scheme comes into utilization. In the recent years, there have been considerable changes in policy and highways design strategy that have prompted new and creative ways to deal with managing and distributing highway space. Shared space plans, parallel intersections, blended intersections, and redistribution of road space for cyclists are examples of this. Our road safety team has the insight of all these advancements, and is very well positioned to give advice and direction on a wide range of schemes.

SEERO team has conducted +88 Road Safety Audits (all Stages 1 to 5) in Qatar and Canada.  Click here to see the list.

We undertake Road Safety Audits at four stages, namely:

  • Stage 1 RSA: At the completion of Preliminary Design.
  • Stage 2 RSA: At the completion of Preliminary Design.
  • Stage 3 RSA: At the completion of Detailed Design.
  • Stage 4 RSA: At the completion of Construction.
  • Stage 5 RSA: Post-Construction – Monitoring (12 and 36 months post-completion).
  • Stage 6 RSA: Existing Road Network

Our Road Safety Audit team can also undertake interim audits between the designated stages. The scope of our RSA service may also include:

  • Non-Motorized User RSA
  • Access RSA
  • Community Street RSA
  • Cycle RSA
  • Work Zone RSA

Note: The RSA Stages may have different numbering or naming
